Elevation of Sir Marek Viacheldrago

What happier news to announce than when a local friend is elevated to a peer!

Southern Region 1’s very own Marek was called upon, during the morning court at the Festival of the Passing of the Ice Dragon, to sit and contemplate elevation to the Order of the Chivalry.

Lady Astridr Vikaskegg did an absolutely wonderful job of seeing to the coordination of the vigil on very short notice. The vigil was previously planned to take place at Gulf Wars but was unfortunately cancelled do to a severe storm that Scadians are now referring to as “Gulfnado.”

It took a village to make the vigil happen in such little turn around, and Lady Vikaskegg went to her blog  shortly after the event to thank all of those who contributed.

” I first need to thank Mistress Hildarun Hugelmann, Mistress Chrestienne de Waterdene, Sir Tristen Sexwulf, Master Janos Meszaros, and of course, Lady Sybilla, for their guidance in planning and executing all and various parts of the vigil. Hilda and Chrestienne did the bulk of manning the vigil book, and Lady Aine ny Alain, Lord Sasson della Sancta Victoria, THL Darian Valski, and Sir Ian Kennovan contributed to the food. Hilda also contributed pitchers, and Sir Stefan and Mistress Marsi contributed some platters and bowls. Sir Guido, Sir Alric of the Mists, Baroness Osa, Lord Olaf Steinabrjotr, and Lady MacKenna Henderson helped with set-up and tear-down.”

During his vigil, Marek was visited by a glittering assemblage of friends new and old, and the joy permeating the room was palpable.

After the closing of baronial court, the docket returned to kingdom matters, wherein Marek was called before their royal majesties and the populace to swear his fealty to the crown and kingdom. He kneeled as Lord Marek, and rose forevermore as Sir Marek Viacheldrago.
